Bennelong time coming.
A Galaxy poll for The Sunday Telegraph and SBS has found that on a two-party preferred basis, Ms McKew has 53 per cent of the vote in Bennelong to Mr Howard's 47 per cent.
Nobody supports Howard more than me: Costello.
Federal Treasurer Peter Costello says he is the Prime Minister’s greatest supporter, after comments yesterday that he already “in a sense” feels like he is running the country.
Mr Costello has told Southern Cross Radio that John Howard leads the country and has his full support.
”[Of] course nobody has supported John Howard more as leader than me,” he said.
“I helped him become leader, I have been his deputy for 10 years, I have served as his most senior minister and nobody supports him more than me.”
Mr Costello says any differences over tax between him and the Prime Minister, were a total media fabrication and that he will look at the leadership if “opportunities arise”.
